I recently embarked upon an adventure to Iceland, a land offering the most incredible, contrasting landscapes rich in volcanic matter and geothermal properties. One big motivational aspect for this holiday was my desire to photograph the country, which involved traveling more than 2,000 kilometers across it. I fell in love with Iceland instantly, so much so that I would move there tomorrow. And it’s even better with an Urwerk EMC Time Hunter on my wrist.

Around the beginning of September every year something stirs me up inside: it’s the promise of amazement at the Goodwood Revival. All that nostalgia; the smells, the sights . . . the promise of greatness! Follow me on a tour of the 2016 Goodwood Revival.
I recently visited the MB&F M.A.D.Gallery in Dubai, a destination I had been itching to visit for years: those skylines, that mix of culture and art, the glorious weather! I wasn’t disappointed on any front. What a place. And the did not disappoint, either. Follow me in for a visit!
London-based watch and jewelry auctioneer Watches of Knightsbridge, a family business with more than 50 years of experience in trading, hosted its summer auction on July 2, 2016. It included more than 500 lots from major players such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, Omega, Heuer, and Breitling and there were some very affordable estimates on offer. Check out 12 of my favorite wristshots from the auction.
Watches from the upcoming Phillips Start-Stop-Reset auction of 88 stainless steel chronographs made a stop in the auction house’s London Mayfair location for several days, which gave me the opportunity to view them in the metal and even try some on. The auction, due to take place at La Reserve in Geneva on May 14, 2016, is sure to be a spectacular event not only for the picturesque location, but for the amazing timepieces for sale.
The top picks of my eighth consecutive visit to Baselworld were purely emotional, down to the design and aesthetics. These would be watches that I would want to wear and own. So armed with a bottle of water, my trusty Leica Q and tones of enthusiasm, this is #mybaselworld.
This year I attended my third SIHH. With the introduction of an independents’ lounge called Carré des Horlogers, it was certainly a changed place, energized with new blood added to the existing Richemont and other brands that comprise the exhibitors at the SIHH. Here I’d like to share with you a selection of wristshots I took with the Leica Q during the 2016 edition of SIHH. Enjoy!
A straight-talking watchmaker and engineer, since 1998 Andreas Strehler has been creating mesmerizing timepieces for his eponymous brand as well as complications and movements for a number of other brands. The cool Papillon, which gets its French name for butterfly from the shape of the very unusual bridge located on the dial side of the movement, is my favorite Strehler timepiece.
The Urwerk EMC Pistol, an extremely limited edition of just five pieces, features a very intricate mix of hand-engraved artistry and groundbreaking technology. The EMC Pistol is an edition of the watch that closes the EMC line, which is really a test bed for the hybrid technology inside rather than a fully finished wristwatch.
My highly anticipated McLaren experience started one Thursday morning in late June . . . and ended on a sunny afternoon in mid-October, when as soon as I climbed into the contoured green Alcantara stitched seat, pulled down the Mantis-green door, and adjusted the seat and mirrors, I set off down the A22 toward Portimao and the Algarve Race Circuit. The noise of the 3.8-liter V8 would be my soundtrack for this journey.
