Porsche’s latest addition to the 911 lineup – the GT2 RS – is not only the most powerful 911 of all time, but it’s also completely street legal! Which is strange because its light weight and speed (0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and top speed of 340 km/h) put it squarely into supercar territory.
Porsche Design has came up with what I believe is one of the most interesting chronographs of recent decades: the Monobloc Actuator, whose claim to fame is its case and the operation of the start, stop, and reset functions. And now Porsche Design introduces its first in-house flyback chronograph movement – within a limited edition timepiece only available to future owners of Porsche’s 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series.
It’s a rare event when the stars align, rarer still when they align to create what may well become a truly iconic chronograph. In fact, the Singer Reimagined Track 1 may already be truly iconic: it certainly has both the pedigree and the style. And more importantly for a horological icon, the Track 1 looks like it’s been around since the 1970s.
