The New England Patriots won their sixth Super Bowl against the Los Angeles Rams in Atlanta on February 3, 2019. The final score of 13-3 was the lowest total score in Super Bowl history with the first – and only – touchdown of the entire game scored in the fourth quarter.
As you will have probably guessed by now, I kept a close eye on the watches that became visible on important wrists that night. And one that flew completely under the radar on the big day was the one worn by the owner of the New England Patriots, Robert Kraft.

Kraft was sporting an Hublot timepiece that dates back to the brand’s beginnings: an 18-karat yellow gold MDM model with black rubber strap.

You may recall that Hublot was the first brand to pair a precious metal case with a rubber strap, long before Audemars Piguet followed suit with the Royal Oak Offshore.
Kraft’s watch has a blue dial, and like many first-generation Hublot models it is powered by a quartz movement.

On February 4, quarterback Tom Brady – who became the first person in the NFL to win six Super Bowls – and wide receiver Julian Edelman, MVP of Super Bowl LIII, went to Walt Disney World in Florida for a victory parade. They were both sporting some interesting wrist candy. And one of those watches in particular took me by surprise.

Brady was wearing a timepiece that had only recently launched at the 2019 SIHH! A new IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Spitfire Edition The Longest Flight adorned his wrist during the victory parade.

The ceramic bezel featuring the world’s cities and the UTC window on the dial were eminently visible. He was wearing it on the green fabric strap that comes with the watch.
This must most certainly mean that Brady is no longer a TAG Heuer ambassador.

Edelman was rocking a timepiece he has sported on numerous occasions: a Rolex Milgauss GV. I could see the distinctive green glass and the familiar Oyster bracelet of this watch.

Rolex has been doing a lot of advertising of the Milgauss recently, leading me to believe it might just come out in an updated version at Baselworld 2019.
