The sixty-fifth edition of the Berlinale, Berlinâs Film Festival, captured the movie worldâs attention for a week in February 2015. One of the biggest public festivals in the world (meaning anyone can buy tickets to attend the premiers), every year the Berlinale welcomes scores of Hollywood personas celebrating new movies. How did GlashĂźtte Original get involved aside from name recognition?

The dead beat seconds complication was developed so that the second hand on the wristwatch would move in the same way as a high-end, precious clock might. Dead beat seconds is a fairly rare addition to a watch movement in the modern age. In fact, it is almost never seen. Nevertheless, we found five watches outfitted with dead beat seconds at Baselworld 2015.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race is legendary among motorsports enthusiasts, and I was overjoyed to have been Chopardâs guest during what is for many the most famous motorsport race in the world. At this yearâs event I counted a great number of watch brands in attendance in some way including Rolex, Chopard, TAG Heuer, Rebellion, and Franck Muller.
The most significant difference between the tourbillon and the karussel is that Bonniksenâs device is driven by the third wheel (the transmission wheel between the wheels driving the minutes and seconds) instead of the fourth wheel (which also drives the second hand) like Breguet’s revolving whirlwind. This fact makes the karussel much sturdier and less prone to shock than the traditional tourbillon. But that’s not all: what about a watch that combines both? Extraordinary!
Burrells in Tunbridge Wells, Kent (UK) recently showcased the new Tudor releases from Baselworld 2015. However, a particularly pleasurable element of the event was the invited speaker: none other than Sir Ranulph Fiennes, a man the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ has called âthe greatest living explorer.â Fiennes spoke articulately, humorously, and humbly for an hour, both wowing and at times shocking the one hundred plus invited guests gathered at Burrells, to hear him tell, almost playfully, his stories about life at the extreme limits.

The jump hour, situated at 3 oâclock, is positioned so that it is the first thing you see when you begin to pull up your shirt cuff to check the time.
