Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic: To Live With Is To Love

There is nothing quite like the experience that wearing an ultra-thin mechanical watch can provide. Despite a svelte, often understated case hugging your wrist in a barely perceptible embrace, you know that a there is a fully mechanical movement functioning at the edge of what is mechanically possible beating inside. And the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic is an especially fine example according to Martin Green.

The Most Glamorous Night In Watchmaking: The Fabergé Jewelry And Watch I Wore To The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2017

After Fabergé merged with Gemfields in 2013, this historical brand became a specialist in colored stones, so I was pleased to have the opportunity to wear one of its lovely high-jewelry necklaces featuring emeralds to the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2017, where I was in the jury. Oh, the struggles of being a monoglot! Luckily this very interesting timepiece doesn’t struggle with anything, mastering dual time zones and gravity all at once.

Great Rolex Experiment With The GMT Master II Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Crown (Archive)

The last time I wrote here on Quill & Pad about my relationship with the world’s greatest mass luxury brand was last year when I explained ‘Why I’ve Never Owned a Rolex – And Why I Might Yet.’ Well, to know me is to know that if I say I “might yet” buy something it’s likely only a matter of time. So, too, with this Rolex: the GMT Master II BLNR “Batman” with black-and-blue bezel.

Fabergé Visionnaire Chronograph Unique Piece For Only Watch 2017: If Life Gives You Lemons . . .

The stunning color combination of Fabergé’s “If Life Gives You Lemons . . .” chronograph highlights the Only Watch auction’s serious topic with a color scheme recalling that of Only Watch’s corporate colors, an auction that raises funds and awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. But this Fabergé chronograph is revolutionary for another reason!
