This is a photo of the movement of the Jacob & Co. Astronomia triple-axis tourbillon: even that one-carat diamond “globe” counterbalancing the earth rotates on two axes!
I’m sure there are people who believe the fiction that this is a movement destined for a wristwatch, but I’m hoping you are not one of them. Let us know what you think this contraption is really for in the comments below.
Congratulations to last week’s winner Dan for his caption involving a Panerai’s inappropriate behavior.

The emperor’s mock up of the Death Star left many on the council less than confident in his plan.
It’s clearly an origins of the universe/work in-progress model direct from God’s workshop – I can hear him now, “Should I make the earth rotate on a single axis? I think I’ll experiment with a triple axis rotation and see what that’s like. I need a better look at one of those shiny rocks. The humans (especially the females) will probably love those. Maybe I should make an entire planet out of one. Why does this perpetual motion machine need to be wound periodically? Damn if I understand that tourbillon! Where in the world is Kronos when you need him”??
