He has now launched his own brand with Complication 1, which pays homage to the ubiquitous Swiss lever escapement with his own extremely slow-beating, giant Swiss lever escapement placed dial-side. At first glance the Emmanuel Bouchet EB02 might look relatively simple, but when you look more closely there’s much more than first appears. And EB02 puts an emphasis on simplifying and perfecting, characteristics the clever watchmaker is well acquainted with.

We are big fans of Bouchet’s work in general and the ingeniously complicated Complication One in particular. What we were shown at Baselworld 2016, though, was truly imaginative: funky new, definitely out-of-the-ordinary colors for such a serious and technical timepiece.
