Stéphane Linder, former product director of TAG Heuer, was appointed CEO mid-2013.
Q&P: Do you have a favorite TAG Heuer complication?
SL: I have two favorites: the Monaco V4, which is a true breakthrough in watchmaking as it contains the first belt-driven movement in the world; it has a fantastic avant-garde design.
And the Carrera MikrotourbillonS 100, the fastest tourbillon of the world, a chronograph measuring 1/100th of a second that combines a traditional complication (the tourbillon), but whose unique dual chain technology enables for the chronograph tourbillon to beat at360,000 vibrations per hour, while a second tourbillon escapement for the regular timekeeping beats at 28,800 vph.
Q&P: Which watch stands in the spotlight at Baselworld?
SL This year we are bringing out the Carrera CH80, the watch hosting our new movement. Extremely slim (6.5 mm), this 233-part new movement is equipped with a vertical clutch system that gives it exceptional power and precision. This new mechanism boasts an optimal combination of three parameters: thinness, a large power reserve (80 hours), and significant volume potential.
Q&P: And in terms of haute horlogerie?
SL: We have one celebrating ten years of the Monaco V4 at Baselworld. And we will have another haute horlogerie timepiece to be presented later in June.
Q&P: What is your favorite watch to wear right now?
SL: The TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 Elegance chronograph with a 43 mm diameter.
