Some meals are memorable for the food, some for the company, and some for a watch at the table.
And then there are those that hit the ball right out of the park by getting top marks in all three.
Make up any story you like to explain how a very contemporary De Bethune DB28 and a very traditional Philippe Dufour Simplicity came to be sharing a bowl of molten cheese in the Swiss Jura mountains.
Please share your fun, funny, sarcastic, or realistic ideas in the comments below.

[…] Congratulations to DanW94 for his winning “fondue dietary advice” entry for last week’s photo, but the punny exchange between Dan and Ryan is worth a read all by itself. Check out all of the comments last week at Philippe Dufour Simplicity, De Bethune DB28, And Fondue: What’s Going On Here? […]

This is so gay
I wasn’t staring into Dufour’s eyes, I was staring at his watch 🙂
Funny
So gay, eww
Good to see you’re not making some pottery together
“Oh, my love, my darling…”
Ian watch is where your heart is 🙂 fondue or any great dish right ?
The Simplicity turns to the De Bethune and says “Go easy on that cheese and bread, you’ll never get Saxonia Thin if you keep eating like that”
???
I’d like to see someone beat that one! Good going, Dan!
Dan you are a pun legend amongst the WIS community, but I will see yours and raise you a “La Chaux de Fondue”!
I have the feeling we should be holding this in La Vegas around a table covered in a green baize cloth!
Hit me!
Ryan, you’re a goud-a guy, but I just don’t think you have what it takes to skewer me pun for pun 🙂
Come on Bert, I mean Dan. I am an emmentalist that picks his puns from the top shelf, whereas you gruyere own in the back yard.
Well done! I appreciate the witty and curdeous exchange, but perhaps we should just bag-uette for now. I bid you a fond(a)due 🙂
Not easy to cheese between those two watches.
Two gents who thoroughly enjoy ‘dipping’ into independent horology 😉
Too easy to resist haha. Thanks
