German watchmaking was well represented at Baselworld 2018, so without further ado let’s have a look at three Saxon manufactures with a variety of luxurious new products introduced at the world’s largest watch fair in these The Watches TV videos.
Nomos
Nomos’ new offerings are led by the Autobahn, a real departure for this lovely manufacture with affordably priced products. And at this Glashütte-based manufacture, thin is in as usual – so don’t miss the new ultra-thin movement and interesting additions to the collections with intriguing date variations.
Enjoy the lively presentation above by Nomos vice-president Merlin Schwertner.
Lang & Heyne
This independent watchmaker headed up by the very clever and detailed Marco Lang is currently enjoying more publicity than ever thanks to its stunning rectangular Georg of 2017 and the follow-up tourbillon in the same shaped case called Anton introduced at Baselworld 2018. This model is nothing short of spectacular and deserves every bit of publicity it is currently garnering.
The extremely well-finished details of this watch are simply breathtaking and look even better up close in this video. This watch is a thing of art, there is no doubt, and makes us desire to see what the Dresden manufacture intends on bringing next year already!
Glashütte Original
This Swatch Group-owned Glashütte-based brand enjoyed a fine Baselworld largely thanks to some of the new timepieces with “younger” countenances like the Sixties Green in two variations and the new “open” version of the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar, which I also singled out in our traditional post-fair round table.
CEO Thomas Meier personally takes The Watches TV through the new offerings.
Bonus: A. Lange & Söhne at SIHH 2018
Oh, and here’s a bonus: the new pieces that Glashütte’s A. Lange & Söhne introduced at SIHH in Geneva just three months ago, presented by CEO Wilhelm Schmid.
