Armin Strom introduced the latest version of its masterful Resonance line at the 2019 edition of the SIHH: the Dual Time Resonance Sapphire.
This marvelous sculpture is the latest version of the pinnacle of Armin Strom engineering housed in a completely transparent sapphire crystal case to show every possible angle of the incredible caliber. The benefit of sapphire crystal is that for true works of art and engineering, nothing should be hidden by the necessary yet sometimes obfuscatory case.
Using diamond-coated tools and cutters, a large block of sapphire crystal is roughly cut into shape and then slowly and methodically machined over several days and nights into a precision case. And while that sounds breezy when so succinctly described, rest assured this is a process that takes months of accurate work.
In this video, The Watches TV’s Marc André Deschoux speaks with Claude Greisler, the brand’s technical director.
