André Kusni is only 17 years old, yet the Asian teenager already owns several horological masterpieces and plans on collecting many more. Watches already in his enviable collection include Urwerk and MB&F. He plans on acquiring a Cabestan next, though he is also interested in acquiring a Greubel Forsey.
Kusni, at the moment the youngest owner of an MB&F on the planet, first came in contact with fine watches when his grandmother gifted him a Rolex Submariner Deepsea Sea-Dweller. Since then, the fortunate teenager lives his passion, now mostly attracted to rather rare watches made by independent boutique brands.
Kusni’s first was the Urwerk UR-105 Dark Knight, which he bought at age 16, making him the youngest Urwerk buyer ever. But if you think Kusni is an impulse buyer, you’d unfortunately be mistaken. He follows a distinct strategy.
So is appreciating mechanical watches a generational thing as we continue to hear? Kusni proves that it is decidedly not.
Take a few minutes to follow Kusni and the boys from The Watches TV around Baselworld 2016, I think you will find it interesting and the watches are fantastic.

“I really love watches. It all started when my grandmother bought me a Submariner” [cuts to shot of a Sea Dweller]
Seriously this is news?
It is to many Tod, though by no means all.
this kid is born a very large pair of Golden Eggs! 😀
Boring!!
Another spoiled rich kid can afford the best watches available. Please give us actual news not some nonsense to massage the ego of a kid.
An inspirational story of hard work and sacrifice being rewarded; this is not.
Seriously…..a trust fund kid is of little interest to me. Spending family money takes little effort. Although he is well educated as to fine watches…..he has not put in the effort to EARN a single one. I prefer to learn about those who have worked hard for years……perhaps decades to acquire their first fine timepiece!
Agree full-heartedly with you on this point!
