The Watches TV has a popular series called “Walkthrough” in which Marc André Deschoux and his camera team film as they walk around an artisan’s workshop.

In this episode, Deschoux and team visit the downtown Geneva atelier of independent sensation Akrivia together with founder Rexhep Rexhepi.

In a charming French accent, 32-year-old Rexhepi explains how he and his team work on their masterpieces; no surprise, one watchmaker cares for the creation of each watch from A to Z.

One scene really caught my interest: the sight of the artisans hand-hammering the movement surfaces to get the beautiful grainy finish that Akrivia timepieces are especially known for.

This video transmits the passion with which Rexhepi and his team create their oeuvres. Having visited the workshop myself, I am pleased that this video allows others to understand the amount of work by hand Akrivia needs to craft its masterpieces.

Also included is a tour of the case workshop of Jean-Pierre Hagmann, which Akrivia took over in September 2019.

Rexhepi impresses with his passion, sane ideas, and humble thoughts for the future. It is worth watching these 17 minutes of excellent footage just to get inside his brain. But the photography of the stunning Akrivia watches isn’t too shabby either.
