Dubai Watch Week 2023 Photofest and Videos – Part 1
by Ian Skellern
Dubai Watch Week (DWW) has been full of surprises (both good and bad) for me, but full of the pleasure of seeing many old friends and lots of fantastic watches.
A massive traffic jam in Paris, and then delays at the security checks, had me arriving at my boarding gate 10 minutes after it closed. But my gloomy mood soon lifted when I learned that the flight was delayed by 15 minutes so I just walked straight onto the plane.
I thought the last Dubai Watch Week two years ago was as good as it gets, but this year is bigger and better than ever.
While Day 1 ran like clockwork, a short storm early Friday morning caused widespread flooding on the roads (and lots of leaks in office buildings).
Being in a desert county, Dubai’s roads have no drainage. Rain that wouldn’t even slow down traffic in Europe brought Dubai to a traffic standstill for half the day.
But by Friday afternoon, the sun was out again, and the show goes on!
Here are (more than) a few photos and videos of just a few of the watches and things that caught my eye.
