Wrist Watching: The Potential New Omega Seamaster On The Wrist Of Daniel Craig’s 007 In The As Yet Untitled ‘Bond 25’

The upcoming twenty-fifth James Bond film will see Daniel Craig reprise his role as 007 for the final time after playing the British secret service agent for what will be a total of five films.

As watch fans, we are certainly interested in which timepiece will grace Craig’s wrist on the big screen in his final appearance. Omega has been the official timepiece of James Bond since the seventeenth film in the series – Goldeneye –when a quartz Seamaster made its debut on Bond’s wrist. With the title character played by Pierce Brosnan at the time, the popularity of the watch skyrocketed after the film.

Since then, Omega has released a plethora of timepieces with 007 branding: among others, Bond has sported Aqua Terra and Planet Ocean models in subsequent films.

During shooting of the twenty-fourth film in the series – 2015’s Spectre – a timepiece with a NATO strap was observed on Craig’s wrist, which turned out to be the Seamaster 300 Spectre complete with a striped NATO strap.

The latest Bond film is currently shooting in Jamaica, and photos taken on set have allowed us to once again to get a pretty detailed look at the potential new model on the wrist of 007.

From what I can tell, the model is an Omega Seamaster Co-Axial housed in a 42 mm steel case, but it could possibly be larger in diameter. It appears to have a liquidmetal graduated diving bezel with beige numerals. Liquidmetal is a proprietary metal alloy belonging to Omega, who often uses it to fill in the numerals of its ceramic bezels.

The hands appear to be the classic Seamaster sword-shaped examples for both the hours and minutes tipped with tan-colored Super-LumiNova, while the dial appears to be black with tan-colored Super-LumiNova hour markers.

There also seems to be a reduction of text in the bottom half of the dial, and there is no sign of a date window. The helium escape valve can be seen clearly at 10 o’clock, and the watch appears to be worn on a grey strap.

My guess is that the movement is the automatic Master Chronometer Caliber 8800 excluding the date function, which features a co-axial escapement, magnetic resistance of 15,000 Gauss, and a power reserve of 55 hours.

As for any Bond-specific “additional features,” we will have to wait and see if Q’s department has added any touches to assist 007 in his mission when the film is released on April 8, 2020.

This could be scenes before he gets a new piece from Q branch! How could they market the new seamaster with him if they weren’t gonna use it or some version of it in the new film!?

Am I seeing MOD arrow just above 6 o’clock on the dial? Looks like it to me. Would totally fit the ex MOD vibe too.
