Sometimes modern timepieces don’t come with certain dial colors, so a vintage piece might be the next best option. This instalment of Wrist Watching puts a vintage timepiece in the spotlight – perhaps chosen by its famous owner because of its attractive color combination.
Jonah Hill, best known for his roles in Moneyball, Superbad, and Wolf of Wall Street, is known to be a watch guy and has been seen wearing various watches from Patek Philippe and Rolex. He regularly wears a Patek Philippe Nautilus Reference 5711 in stainless steel, one of the hottest watches on the planet right now in my opinion.
Hill was on “The Ellen Show” recently to promote the first film he has directed, Mid90s, which he also wrote. It was here that I caught a glimpse of a gold Patek Philippe under his sleeve, but found confirmation regarding which watch it was a few days later when he appeared on the sneaker shopping series of the YouTube channel Complex along with the star of his film, Sunny Suljic.
Hill was wearing a vintage Patek Philippe Nautilus Reference 3800/1J in yellow gold. The Gérald Genta-designed timepiece stands out in the precious yellow metal, while the ribbed blue dial with gold hour markers nicely complements the metal. Another notable feature is the date window, whose color matches the dial, blending nicely with the rest of the watch.

3700j?
Hi Zach
I thought it was a 3800J because of the date wheel disc not being white.
Regards
Nick
Nick, in any case, :), it beats at 3 Hz. The modern 4 Hz calibers from PP arrived only with the 324 powering the 5711A.
I believe it is a 3800J, based on my 3800A.
