Chances are that if you have a pulse, you have probably watched – or perhaps even read – some of the Game of Thrones series. And unless you live at the bottom of the Eyrie, you are probably aware how popular the series is.
Just in case you aren’t, Vanity Fair reports official numbers of around 25 million viewers per episode – not including illegal downloads, illicit streaming, and DVD sales, of course. That makes it the most popular show on television right now. Not bad for a dark, violent fantasy soap opera set in an alternative medieval universe that’s broadcast only on subscription networks.
So it’s no mystery that all kinds of manufacturers have realized licensed products capitalizing on the show’s loyal following.
In 2013, Ulysse Nardin released a 25-piece limited edition of the Maxi Marine Diver Black Sea called the Night’s Watch that sold out in the blink of one of Brandon Stark’s three eyes (see Obsessed With ‘Game Of Thrones’? There’s A Watch For You).
Montegrappa now announces a four-line collection of writing instruments, each of which represents one of the key families in the creative series: Stark, Baratheon, Lannister, and Targaryen.
Each series contains a fountain pen, a rollerball, and a ballpoint pen. And, of course, each of these writing instruments is decorated with the corresponding sigils of the families: direwolf, stag, lion, and dragon in colorful lacquered surfaces.
Representing the mighty and precious Valyrian steel of the rarest type of swords found in author George R.R. Martin’s dark and icy world, the fountain pens’ nibs are crafted in stainless steel and decorated in the style of a sword. The nibs are available in extra fine, fine, medium, and broad sizes.
The writing instrument manufacturer founded in 1912 plans on introducing deluxe editions in the near future.

These are some fine luxury pens. Do we really need to co brand them like they were children’s lunch boxes? I know I sound sinicle and grouchy. I’ll shut up now.
I forgot to mention my Rolex spoon collection 😁
