Near the halfway point of Baselworld 2019, I got together with Marc André Deschoux of The Watches TV to chat about what we saw at this highly significant edition of the fair: we discussed things we liked – gorgeous, unique horology for the female wrist included – and watches that seem important in the larger scheme of haute horlogerie. This resulted in a friendly eight-minute chat taking us through some of the obvious and not-so-obvious highlights of the 2019 show and even a little prognostication concerning its future and the fact that the SIHH and Baselworld will be held back to back in 2020.
