Sotheby’s justifiably described the tourbillon pocket watch No. 41000 as the most important watch made by A. Lange & Söhne. Nicknamed the Jahrhunderttourbillon (“tourbillon of the century”) and introduced in 1900, it was until recently part of Sotheby’s bombastic Masterworks of Time auction.
