On a recent trip to New York City, I had the double pleasure of finally visiting A. Lange & Söhne’s Madison Avenue boutique and meeting up with my old friend John Keil.

You may remember John as a sometime contributor on the topic of retail here at Quill & Pad or as the founder of the unique micro brand community WatchGauge. Well, John is nothing if not passionate – and has now founded another new watch platform: a collaborative video channel called WatchWithUs.

WatchWithUs was created to be collaborative and inclusive, which means that the videos on this channel come from a variety of contributors and can cover any aspect of the watch world, from micro brands and quartz watches all the way through the highest end of luxury watchmaking.

And the latter is where John and I intersected: spending a few minutes in the world of A. Lange & Söhne, we sat down to discuss the meaning of the 25^th anniversary of the Lange 1 and in particular inspect the Lange 1 Anniversary Edition Reference 191.066 in white gold in some detail.
