If you attended Watches and Wonders 2022, you may have noticed the large exhibition called Time Design right near the entrance. This exhibition was organized by the cultural arm of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie – now called Watches and Culture in the reorganized post-pandemic version of the FHH (Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie) – and it is one of a few planned activities for the year set to culminate in the Watch Forum in September 2022, which will be centered around the theme of sustainability.

In case you missed the Time Design exhibition at the fair, you may now see it until May 8, 2022 in the FHH’s space at Pont de la Machine right in the center of Geneva. It is free and open to the public.

Time Design takes the visitor on a journey that illustrates the evolution of wristwatch design, starting with the pocket watch and moving quickly to the modern wristwatch in many of its most creative executions.

The exhibition comprises approximately 100 ticking objects, which are presented in showcases designed by students of ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne. These objects demonstrate the many faces of the wristwatch and include special sections on Gérald Genta and contemporary watchmaking, leading the visitor right into the present and a possible future.

Additionally, the FHH is offering assembly workshops to accompany the exhibition, which take place on April 16, 23, and 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. This is also free, though it takes place only in French and in groups limited to ten.
