A Watch Nerd’s 7 Favorite “Digital” Watches
It will come as no surprise to anyone who has read my pieces in the past that I like a good jump hour mechanism. Actually, I love a good jump hour mechanism. There is just something about that instantaneous change driven entirely by mechanical means that fascinates me. And yet not all “digital” watches require the use of jump hours and minutes; some don’t even use a jump at all yet still read digitally. So today I want to break down a list of my seven (plus change) favorite “digital” watches.

Sheaffer Partners With Prancing Horse To Create The Scuderia Ferrari Writing Collection

85 Years Of The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso
It perhaps seems like overkill to “celebrate” an anniversary like 85 years, but when you’re a wristwatch as old and as evergreen as the Reverso, it somehow becomes appropriate. In honor of the long and successful career of the horological icon, let’s take a brief look back over the last 85 years of this truly authentic timepiece, an original in the world of watches.
Richard Mille’s Top 10 Auction Pieces Of 2015
Richard Mille, for all of its incredibly creative 15 years, is still quite a young brand, so it’s really no surprise that not too many of the brand’s watches appear at auction. Graceland Auctions Two Watches Bought By Elvis Presley
In honor of what would have been Elvis Presley’s 81st birthday on January 8, Graceland is putting on an auction of some significant artifacts with 126 lots going under the hammer. Both watches are individually engraved with personal inscriptions from the King to people in his life.
In The Face Of Complexity, Simplicity Rules: The Konstantin Chaykin Genius Temporis
In the early 1960s, engineer Kelly Johnson of Lockheed Martin came up with “keep it simple, stupid”, which became better known by its acronym, KISS. Watches that employ clever levers and clearly adhere to the KISS principle are always something that can turn me into a giddy fan boy, and one such piece is the Konstantin Chaykin Genius Temporis. Heck, even the name implies some genius.
